Special Summers!

Special Summers!

Hello sweeties! It has been too long, and we apologize for it!! But it only makes me more excited to tell all of you about what we have been doing this lovely summer. Now, before you ask me, yes, planning is underway for the next big annual vintage photo shoot! Although unfortunately it will obviously be a bit later on this year than it was last year! Over the next few weeks the new floor is going to be put in place in the VCR Office! On to todays topic. Summer. I hope all you guys had a great one, i know i did!
This summer, the country rose and i did some travelling, we saw many amazing views, and enjoyed experiencing the wonderful traditions of Spain!

As soon as we stepped of the plane into Spain, a whisk of humidity came over us, from that moment on, my body clock would change, my diet would change, my daily routine would change, and these changes were all fascinating to explore.

~Body Clock~
As much as i wish i was, i have to admit i am not, and never really have been a 'morning person'. And i am not going to lie to you, on weekends my day usually starts at 12pm, unless i set my alarm clock before then! But thats okay, i have the whole afternoon to go out , do what i need to do that day, go home, and relax in the evening, that is pretty much how my England summer days go! But not in Spain... In Spain everyone has almost no choice but to be a morning person, because in the afternoon it is simply to hot to be able to function! Especially if you have been living in England all your life, i can tell you. Between 2-5pm Spanish people still continue to have a siesta, this is one of the very many famous aspects of the Spanish culture. In this time people are expected to rest or even sleep, to restore their energy for later on in the evening. After the siesta, people carry on with their life's as normal until it comes to around 11pm, were they dress nice and go to a bar for their tea. The atmosphere on the streets at this time is so friendly and happy, it really puts a smile on your face. Obviously i only speak for the body clock i had on my holiday and the people i met, other people will inevitably have a different one.

~Diet~
Paella , a Spanish delicacy.
Now their isn't much i can say on this category, and i really wish i could, but being a vegetarian limits your options slightly. I have got to say though, by the looks of the dishes the chef's produce, they really do strive to perfection. The cakes were to die for, and although in some cases you couldn't eat them all, due to the huge size of them, you still continue to buy them and love them every single time. Spain has some amazing food for every time of the day, one of my favourites, being 'churros' for breakfast. Churros, could be referred to as the equivalent of fritters, or fried doughnuts. They are often covered in sugar, and dipped in a chocolate sauce, they are the definition of divine!
If you ever travel to Spain this is a must have!!

~Daily Routine~
Our daily routine was pretty dependent on what we had planned to do! Sometimes we soldiered through the hot siesta times, site seeing, or at the beach, other times we rested. But almost every single day, no matter what we had been doing, we went to the pool. Pretty much guaranteed. It was just so refreshing, to jump into the water and just swim, then to relax and dry off in the sun, it was luxury.

And of course not forgetting the obvious beach day, because when you come from England you make the most of being able to jump into the Sea, without running back out again being completely frozen, thats England for you! The Sea was so fresh, and cooled you down without freezing you, the beach was absolutley beautiful as well, and a beach day was one of the nicest type of days out there. You could go swimming, surfing, on pedalos, kayaking. And it isn't really like me to compliment a beach day, as i am really not the biggest fan of sand!

The Country Rose and i did loads of site seeing, we went everywhere! But despite everything we saw and did in our time away, my favourite time has got to be the Feria! Oh yes, we were fortunate enough to be in Spain during all the Spanish festivals celebrating the end of summer. We danced all night, everyone was so happy and energetic. During the Feria period in Huelva, everyone literally slept all day and partied all night. In the day time , other than the odd few people, it was practically like a ghost town. But during the evening there wasn't a single person asleep. Extreme opposites!

I had a fabulous time in Spain, this summer was completely amazing, and i could go on and on about it for months, BUT i don't want to bore you all to much! I have given you a glimpse into Country rose's and my summer adventures, now we would LOVE to hear all about yours!!

A Touch of Magic!

A Touch of Magic

The VCR Team got together today and used a little bit of imagination to create a fabulous , magical look.
The Country Rose, Myself and our beautiful model , Tiger Lily, (Who is always helping us behind the scenes of the blog!) designed this look , exploring a 'hippy' style look.

This Glorious ,vintage rose petal and ribbon detailed patterned skirt, with a lovely waist line, structured pleats and its lovely length. It is the highlight of the outfit for me, and adds the true touch of genuine vintage.

We used detailed eye makeup, highlighting key areas of the eye, and a simple 'line and flick' of eyeliner. We used forest green eye shadow as our main source of colour to the eyes .

We attempted to curl the hair into natural waves. The Relaxed curls creates the free vibe we where aiming for.

We paired the skirt with a simple white knitted jumper.
As a cute little extra touch we added a gold butterfly ring.
The skirt is a truly great fabric it is flexible and it flows. It is one of those skirts that you can do a magical princess twirl in!

Well all that is left to say is Thank you so much to Tiger Lily, She truly is stunning!! I hope You have enjoyed this little surprise , out of the blue article!
I hope you feel inspired to experiment with some vintage looks yourself! If you do and would like to share it with us, post it on our Facebook page: Click HERE

To tell you the truth this article was unplanned and last minute! But when the idea strikes you must carry it through!!
This was a little experiment we tried out, in preparation for our big summer shoot we are planning!! So i guess you got a sneak preview!!

Thank you for reading! I hope you enjoyed it! Lots of Love to all, Buttercup x

That Cute Little Touch. *Winter Style!*

That Cute Little Touch, Winter Edition!

WOW! So its the 5th of December, Hope everyone has got there advent calenders out and ready! How exciting!
I once wrote an article called "That Cute Little Touch!" , and today i had a thought, Christmas is such a magical time, and it is all the small things that add to the magic! I love the little decorations around the house and on the Christmas Tree! So i wanted to do "That Cute Little Touch" Winter Edition!

There are just some of the cutest decorations out there. Here is one i found online , simply by searching , "Christmas Decorations Vintage Style" . It is the cutest, decorative bird box, with sweet Christmas details! At Only £14.95 , it is the loveliest secret little Christmas gift for yourself! Or maybe for friends or family. Click here for the website!

From the same website is this adorable Shabby Chic style Christmas Star! The Tradition says it is supposed to bring Good Luck, Which is simply a bonus! Click Here!

At the Amazing Price of £3.95!!

However, there are ways to make the most gorgeous decorations, and have fun doing it too! You could revamp an old bauble by decoupaging it!

What a sweet idea is this? Just such a gorgeous bauble!!

You Can even add a personal touch, with something you like!

You can also make Star decorations to hang from the Christmas tree!
They are so easy to make and co lovely!
I LOVE the music notes decoupage idea!

If you want to know how to make the cute Stars to hang from your tree, then Click Here, this is a sweet little site, where i found the image and it tells you everything you need to know!

Next up is some of the most lovely Christmas bunting ever! It is just simply the sweetest!
It is £12.95 , i think it would just lighten up any room you want to be honest!

Of course , you can challenge yourself and make bunting!! I am no professional when it comes to sewing, but even i have managed to make some lovely bunting in the past!
It is a lot more simple then people may think!
I will have ago at explaining it to you!
(For a short bunting , of 5 triangles)

1. Cut out ten triangles , out of your chosen material.
2. Put the Triangles into pairs and lay them , with the material front facing inwards on top of each other.
3. Sew (by hand or by sewing machine) around the two triangles, but not the top!
4. Like what you do when you have an inside out sock,  make the triangles so they aren't inside out. (Told you i would give ago at explaining it! Never said it would sound professional haha, That is just how i always think of it!)
5. Iron each triangle so they have no creases in them!
6. Get some think ribbon, and pin the triangles to it..
~Lay the ribbon out on a flat surface.
~Lay each triangle an equal amount of distance away from each other across the ribbon. Each Triangle you lay, place it in the middle of the ribbon, so you have ribbon to fold over.
~Fold over the other half of the ribbon and pin it.
~Then simply sew along the ribbon and hey presto , they you have it!
So Sorry if you don't understand my instructions! Sure there are better instructions out on the web, but there is no harm in having ago at it!

Anyway My Vintage Sweet Hearts , it was lovely talking to you all, thank you for reading, i hope it helps you have a gorgeous, magical ,vintage Christmas! Leave any comments below, on any exciting Christmas plans , or decoration ideas! I would love to hear from you all! You could also post a Christmas of your Christmas decorations on our Facebook Page, to share the joy of Christmas Decorations further!

Lots of Love to you all, Hope you all have an exciting December!

Patterns and Pastels!

Patterns and Pastels!
Hello all, Hope everyone is having gorgeous weather, and looking great in their vintage swimsuits suggested by The Country Rose , if you haven't read this fabulous article then, click here!
Anyhow , i really need to do an interior blog for you guys, since i have been covering all the events recently!

Today i am going to do a boys room for everyone , shabby chic style!
Patterns and Pastels, i love both those words to pieces and i personally think they are two words combined for life!

Lets start off by the wallpaper, many people could think this is a tough thing to select, but is couldn't be anymore simple! The trick is to take the pattern from the wallpaper and use it for other little touches in the room like a cushion or use to make a patch work quilt or rim the curtains with it! If you can't find material in the same pattern as your wallpaper you simply pick a colour from it and yes that colour , it all ties in well which ever way you do it!
This is a simple and easy yet effective wallpaper for any room!
Lets take a look at some selections i have made for wallpapers...
I love this pattern and chose it in particular because it had more than one colour in it giving you a wider choice of accessories!
Right now then , having showed those wallpapers it sometimes can be nice to simply have pastel walls and a patterned carpet, For example:

The furnishing in this is quite cunning , with a mix of modern and shabby chic styles! for example the bed is modern , yet the chair and back cabinet are shabby chic!
Now you are probably wondering , how i will do the furniture! well this is easy too! Shabby Chic is by far not just a feminine thing, take a look at this furniture, it is just so cute!
I have never seen anything like this bed, i love it, one of a kind , so unique!

These cabinets give off that old vibe , but are still cutting edge in style!

Last but not least, the lovely plush chair!
Striped , or neutral colours with a pillow on to add some colour maybe, make a great chair!
Well there you have it! It is easy to make a boys room when you know how! As always comment questions and ideas for future articles below! I hope you enjoyed this article and as always follow us and support us on our websites! For more information click here! Thank you for reading :) Have a lovely week, Much Love, Buttercup x

The Vintage fair!

Vintage Fairs!
As you may know the VCR Team and i went on an outing for you guys and explored a local vintage fair! We had so much fun and bought so much gorgeous vintage stuff!

There was a great variety of vintage items there to offer,  it was jam packed and I highly recommended any vintage fans to go their

I would love to start by thanking all the lovely stall holders for enabling us to share our day with you by taking a few snaps of their gorgeous Vintage collections,
Starting off today with a little exclusive from our last shoot, that hasn't been shown before!
This is a gorgeous picture and fits in with this weeks blog due to the lovely, beautiful vintage fan. It has so much detail it is simply amazing, if only we actually needed them in Norfolk.

Right first of all lets start with the marvelous collections of brooches and badges we found there! They were so gorgeous,
 suggesting different vibes!

The delicate and elegant brooches would just make
that outfit.
How simply gorgeous

This follows on nicely to the magnificent Jewellery, the displays were gorgeous and the jewellery was to die for!

A taste of vibe and culture!
A lovely display, full of Vintage treasures!

Next up was the gorgeous crockery and ornaments! They were extravagant , so delicate,In fact words can't describe them take a look for yourself...
A magnificent Tea Party collection.

Full of wonders!

Elegantly detailed crockery

Wow! Just Wow.

Moving on to my favorite bit, the clothes section! Here are some snap shots of the team modeling some vintage must haves.

Top class vintage , I say!

More of the must have jumpers!

Words can't describe!

LOVE the lace detail!
Your Big Day could not be more special in
this stunning wedding Dress!!
