March Favourites!

March Favourites!
Hello lovelies! Today I've decided to do a March favourites, even if its the 10th of April (Shhh!) Most of them are beauty products, but I have included some non-beauty favourites also. So lets get right into it.

My favourite nail varnish in March, which I have been wearing to death, has been "Skinny Dip"by Rimmel London. It is part of their "60 secondS" nails collection. The colour is a beautiful deep, rich blue. The colour comes out exactly as it looks in the bottle. It is also very quick to dry.It is also wonderful for the price, of only £3.65!

My favourite lipstick this month has been MAC's "Made to Order". The colour is a sort of "your-colour-but-better" except more pink. It gives a lovely, but natural looking shimmer and silky look. Its very moisturising, so I didn't have to use a base or other lip balm. It stays on for a very long time, and It may sound weird, but I love the smell of MAC lipsticks, tell me if you do too haha! The price is a little on the high side, at around £15.99, but its definitely worth the price.

I've been loving the Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturiser. Its light, but doesn't wear easily. It provides the perfect base for foundation, helping it to smoothly glide on,and stay on! Its worth the £17.00 for great skincare! I have only been using it for a few months but already I think it might be becoming one of my Holy Grail beauty products!!

bekijk grote fotoFor a while I have been searching for a good foundation brush, and at last I found one. I have been loving my new Bobbi Brown Foundation brush. Normally I wouldn't go for something this expensive, but I had heard a lot about this brush and wanted to treat myself. Priced around £32 it is not cheap, but the quality and the flawless application make the price worth it. It blends wonderfully, meaning no horrid streak marks. Its super soft and gentle on your face, and makes the task of applying foundation so much quicker. This definitely a product to spoil yourself with!

I really wanted a dark colour to wear in March, but wanted one that was easily wear-able or blend-able to make it look more subtle. I found exactly what I wanted with this "Exaggerate Lipliner" from Maxfactor. I got it in the colour, Obsession, and have been completely and utterly obsessed with it! The colour is a beautifully dark berry shade, that can be made lighter, darker or glossier with any other product. I've found that it is super versatile and easy to wear. The lipliner is creamy and not too drying. I can't remember the exact price, but I know that it was not more than £5!

My favourite candle this month has been "Salted Caramel" by  Yankee Candle (If you follow me on Instagram you should know that!! @Allie_Bradley1) It smells absolutely delicious. It is a very strong scent, meaning you don't have to burn it as often. Its almost good enough to eat! I got the medium sized candle, which is around £16.99

I bought a gorgeous bag this month, which I have been absolutely obsessed with. For the price of £30, I got this gorgeous white bag from River Island. It looks small, but is big enough to fit everything I would need on an ordinary day. You can carry it or have it on your shoulder with the shoulder strap. It has three sections to it, to which have zips, and the middle section has a pop-openy thing (not sure what its called). The pockets are all very roomy, even if they look small. Its the perfect bag to complete any outfit!
I could only find it online in Light Pink, but it is available in White in store I think!

The songs I have been loving this month are "Hey Brother" by Avicii and "Do I wanna know" by the Arctic Monkeys. I've also been listening to the Frozen soundtrack like craazy!

I've been adoring the Lipton ice tea's! My favourite flavor is the Peach. Its so delicious and fresh, and makes you feel totally replenished and refreshed. The lemon one is also very yummy.

Thankyou for reading guys! What are your monthly favourites? I would love to know.
 Have a nice day!

A Touch of Magic!

A Touch of Magic

The VCR Team got together today and used a little bit of imagination to create a fabulous , magical look.
The Country Rose, Myself and our beautiful model , Tiger Lily, (Who is always helping us behind the scenes of the blog!) designed this look , exploring a 'hippy' style look.

This Glorious ,vintage rose petal and ribbon detailed patterned skirt, with a lovely waist line, structured pleats and its lovely length. It is the highlight of the outfit for me, and adds the true touch of genuine vintage.

We used detailed eye makeup, highlighting key areas of the eye, and a simple 'line and flick' of eyeliner. We used forest green eye shadow as our main source of colour to the eyes .

We attempted to curl the hair into natural waves. The Relaxed curls creates the free vibe we where aiming for.

We paired the skirt with a simple white knitted jumper.
As a cute little extra touch we added a gold butterfly ring.
The skirt is a truly great fabric it is flexible and it flows. It is one of those skirts that you can do a magical princess twirl in!

Well all that is left to say is Thank you so much to Tiger Lily, She truly is stunning!! I hope You have enjoyed this little surprise , out of the blue article!
I hope you feel inspired to experiment with some vintage looks yourself! If you do and would like to share it with us, post it on our Facebook page: Click HERE

To tell you the truth this article was unplanned and last minute! But when the idea strikes you must carry it through!!
This was a little experiment we tried out, in preparation for our big summer shoot we are planning!! So i guess you got a sneak preview!!

Thank you for reading! I hope you enjoyed it! Lots of Love to all, Buttercup x

Beauty Products not worth the hype

Hey guys,
Hope you have all had a chance to read Vintage Photoshoots, and are excited for the 31st! Thanks again for all the offers, but we are sorted with Models and Photographers now.

Beauty Products not worth the
Hype

These products may still work for you, but when we tested them we didn't think they were up to the standard.

1. Barry M Dazzle Dust
Im not sure quite when I started to hear about the dazzle dust, but at the beginning of the Barry M Craze, they appeared out of no where.

When I actually used it, I must say I was not impressed. Firstly by the amount of mess that it caused. Maybe it was the way I applied it, but I just remember having to clean up so much glitter after woulds, off of my ; Hands, Mirror, Floor and Face.

I felt it looked too harsh, somehow latched to the creases in my Eyelids ( Even using a good primer!) and the fallouts were just ridiculous.

2. Colour Unlimited Lip gloss
Apologies for bad picture quality :-)
These lipglosses came about in a sudden Burst of "Bright Lip fashion". Lots of videos were made, featuring them. In all of these videos, the women seem really impressed with the lip glosses.

For me, they were too shiny. I felt they were just siting on my lips. Shiny lips are pretty, but when they look overboard, gooey and sticky.. that's when its too far.

A minor critisism, is that is smelt funny. Im not sure what of.. but I just know that I didn't want to put it on my Lips.

3. Revlon Colourstay Whipped Creme
This product really made an impact in the Vlogging community, so many videos feature this Foundation. Describing how light, and easy to apply.

Whereas on my skin I found it Heavy. Perhaps I applied it wrong. My skin is also very oily on my T-Zone, so it made my face shiny. So for £12.30 I think I will pass on this one.

Its not something I would buy again, that's for sure. But maybe Im just applying it wrong, and helps? Whats it like for you?

4. Revlon Lipstain
Its like pick-on Revlon day! Sorry Revlon, but this product wasn't worth the hype either.
I have heard so very much about lipstain's. So.So.Much.

It seems everyone was obsessed with them! I could see why, they were lighter to put on and smelt lush. So I went out and bought one.

I found Revlon Lipstain's were too light! And quickly wore off. Even the eight hour ones faded quickly on my lips. And the moisturizing Balm did nothing to help it stay on, but simply buttered my lips.

Although the colours had a wonderful range, I found they looked very similar on me.
On the Plus they smell amazing, and give your lips a pretty shine. But were a disappointment, and not worth all the hype that they got on the Web.

5. All-in-One BB Cream.
From The Body shop.

B-B cream is big at the moment! And although others have worked for me, the one from the Body Shop was such a disappointment.

I personally love the body shop, but this realisation made me realise I should shop around more for beauty products. I found this BB cream advertised so often, and hurried off to the shop to buy it!

But when I finally got round to using it, it was average. It didn't provide that much coverage for me,so I found myself applying Foundation, Concealer and SPF products. The lacking of Sun Protection irritated me. Its still a good coverer, but its not a one-step and out the door Item - Which the Hype showed it to be.
And at the time priced at £20... boo :(

top 15 trends for 2013 !

              New years on its way!

Thats its , 2012 is almost over, would you believe it ? I swear it has gone so quickly for me. But it has also been my hardest year for me. So a part of me is glad that its over. But ...watch should we expect from 2013 .As always, im one step ahead , getting all the news for the new year right here for you .Tut , i do spoil you all .

It seems this year as if we are backtracking , back to the simple designs that work so well.

TEN TRENDS FOR THE NEW YEAR

1. TOP COLOUR IS EMERALD
Emerald is the colour for the new year , expect clothes to be in that beautiful color , cant wait actually ! Its such a wonderful color , and works wonderfully with leggings - an old favorite

2. BLACK AND WHITE CHECKS
Woohoo! The sixtees trend is back , and better than ever , with pretty black and white checkered jackets and skirts . Simple but ever so stylish.

3. MINIMALISTICS
simple colors , and you know what that always brings : denim! Our old friend , we sure have missed lots of denim over this year , we have been more interested in colour jeans, or chinos , leather skirts .But i have so much denim that i cannot WAIT to wear .Yay!

4. BRIGHT COLOURS FOR NIGHTWEAR
For nightwear , its still going to be simple. Expect blues and blacks .And also this fun colour : Orange .So its a mix of the simple with the eye catching.

5. SUMMER STYLES
Sunglasses are well on trend , all types , all with bright colors and designs.Simple tshirts with sayings written on them are in again , thats one trend i wont be a part of. But still bright blues and oranges are on the catwalk again!

6. STRIPES
Any color really , just lots and lots of stripes. I love this trend , and couldn't wait for it to appear again. Its so simple and classic. And such a staple , but also easy to wear! You can change them so they are edgy , soft , girly , tom boyish , anything you want at all! They are so versatile. Can't wait!

7. EDGY LEATHER IS STILL IN!
Im so happy. One trend I didn't want to let go of this year was the leather that was brought in in 2012. Don't lie, it made you feel powerful.Im so glad its back in.And its bringing its friend : Colored leather , could it be any better?

8. INDIAN STYLE BEAUTY
Dresses like sari's , bringing in bright colors like pink and bright blue , sparkles and lots of sequins. How beaautiful. Almost certain to make you feel wonderful.I can imagine those pretty dresses , wow.

9. THE SHORT- SUIT
Imagine this , a beautiful suit , but the bottom half is only shorts , may not be that wearable for everyday .But will be certain to make an impact. Not quite so wearable , but strong and edgy, can't wait to see the vogue magazines.

10. SPORTY DRESSES
These , are the real musthave of the new year , can you possible imagine? A new type of dress! That you can wear both as a night outfit , or for day. The best colors being red , black and white. Figure-hugging tops , with floaty floral skirts, an unbelievable combination!

11. FLAT AND LOW HEELS
Yes , you did just read that right .LOW HEELS! Which means us girlies an actually walk for once! And walk in style , what an amazing trend. Beautiful shoes and feet that don't hurt!

AND NOW FOR THE HAIR TRENDS....

12. BRAIDS
Ahh braids , being able to go around all day , not having to worry about sorting out your hair again , because let's face it , it doesn't matter how messy your braid is.They always look beautiful .And they are going to be in for 2013 ! Side braids and individual braids are new too!

13. PERFECT CURLS
Better have your curling wands ready girls ! Next year calls for Perfectly curled hair , and wavy hairstyles .I think i just heard the sound of thousands of girls with curly hair squeal.Your in luck girlies.

14. OMBRE COLORED HAIR
For those of us who don't speak "Fancy hair terms" that means to have different color highlights at the ends of your hair .Those girls , like me , who have naturally lighter hair at the bottom, are very very happy with this. But this trend can suit everyone! There is also the REVERSE OMBRE , meaning when you have a different color hair at the top of your head , which sounds strange but actually looks very beautiful  ( look at pictures of Beyonce and you will see what i mean) 4

15. BOLD HAIR COLOR , DIP DYED ENDS AND LITTLE DASHES OF COLOR
Now my lovelies , is the official time for a little bit of a color spurt. Did dyped ends and still going to be in ( thank goodness , i absolutely love them! ) and now the more dynamic look is in , dashes of colour in your hair , or "pops" of colour as they call them now .You dont have to go all out though , with bright colors .You could go for a more natural color , like a darker brown , or a blonde.. But one thing is for sure , bright colours are IN!

Thank you all so much for reading ! Feel free to comment and tell me what you think of the new trends. I would love to hear from you. Good luck , and have a wonderful 2013!
