Top 5 Vintage Father's Day Gifts!

Top Ten Vintage Father's Day Gifts!

Its often difficult to think of things that your Dad would like for Father's Day. If your having trouble thinking of Gift ideas, below are some of my Favorites, all with a beautiful Vintage look.

So if your dad loves Vintage things, your in luck! If not, these ideas will hopefully still inspire you. ( If you have unaware of when it is, then the date is Sunday the 16th of June, I've got your back!)

1. Vintage Coins.
Coins are so exciting to look at. You could even inspire your Dad to start a Coin Collection.

Every coin has its one story to tell, and its so interesting to find out the story of each of them. At the Vintage fair, one of the Stallholders gave me a lesson on all things Vintage Coins, and I bought a nice collection, some Egyptian, Greek, Spanish, French and even Belgian!

I really reccomend buying him a few Vintage coins. They are also a very affordable option for a present. Also, your not only giving a gift, but also a new potential hobby!

2. Vintage Satchels
For the stylish dad's out there, or if you want to give yours a fashion helping hand. A satchel can be rocked by any guy, giving them a sudden burst of cool.

Vintage Leather satchels are of course the best ones to choose. You can wear them with everything. I reccomend a medium sized bag, such as this one from Scaramanga.
Large Wide Leather Satchel 16 Inch
A Super stylish gift idea!

Top Tip!
~ For Vegan or Vegetarian Dad's, fake leather is an easy alternative
~ Not all Vintage satchels are "Boring". Some come in colours like Blue, Red and even Yellow!

So even if its not the most affordable, they are very durable.

3. Toy Cars
No matter what age, Lads love their toy cars. These can range in prices drastically. You can either buy a proper collectible one ( Which obviously will be more expensive) or just a nice retro-designed one.
Not only can he collect them, but also give a play with them! Let him let out his inner little boy.

Because of this, prices will range
significantly.

4. Vintage Mug
I love this one from Best Lil' Store

5. Little Bits and Pieces
You don't need to buy massively expensive things. Infact, most people prefer to get lots of little things instead! So spoil your dad with these little treats.

~ Make a "Dad's Car-washing Bucket" by decorating an old bucket, use your most creative drawing skills, then fill it with all his favorite products.

~ Bake cupcakes. Below is a recipe for Vanilla Cupcakes.

Ingredients

For the buttercream icing

Preparation method

  1. Preheat the oven to 180C/350F/Gas 4 and line a 12-hole muffin tin with paper cases.
  2. Cream the butter and sugar together in a bowl until pale. Beat in the eggs a little at a time and stir in the vanilla extract.
  3. Fold in the flour using a large metal spoon, adding a little milk until the mixture is of a dropping consistency. Spoon the mixture into the paper cases until they are half full.
  4. Bake in the oven for 10-15 minutes, or until golden-brown on top and a skewer inserted into one of the cakes comes out clean. Set aside to cool for 10 minutes, then remove from the tin and cool on a wire rack.
  5. For the butter cream icing, beat the butter in a large bowl until soft. Add half the icing sugar and beat until smooth.
  6. Then add the remaining icing sugar with one tablespoon of the milk, adding more milk if necessary, until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
  7. Add the food colouring and mix until well combined.
  8. Spoon the icing into a piping bag with a star nozzle and pipe the icing using a spiraling motion onto the cup cakes in a large swirl.

But always remember, its the thoughts that count. Your dad will be happy with whatever you get for him. Happy Fathers day to any Dad's reading! Have a wonderful day tomorrow.
